EHS Technician

The Otis Institute is currently looking for an EHS Technician or Specialist.
If you want to learn and be exposed to all aspects of the sustainability, environmental, health and safety (SEHS) engineering and management consulting world, this is the beginning position for your career! In this role you will be working with senior consultants to meet and exceed our clients' SEHS initiatives and goals. You will support various projects with mentoring from current staff, be responsible for initial report writing and eventually will manage small projects.
Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience and/or an internship in a SEHS field
  • A sense of urgency
  • A desire to grow and learn
  • A self-starter that knows when to stop and ask for help
  • Detail oriented; accuracy and thoroughness a must
  • Utilizes project and time management to meet and exceed internal and external customer needs
  • Interacts effectively with clients which includes identifying opportunities to further assist in meeting their goals and initiatives
  • Communicates effectively with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Verifies facts that includes reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements and voluntary environmental, health and safety standards (ISO14001, and OHSAS 18001).
  • Knows how to perform calculations that may include: Mass Balance, Engineering, Structural, Chemistry, Science, and/or Health and Safety Calculations (basic algebra and statistics a must)
  • Ability to gather and organize data from multiple sources
